Meet the team

Lynn is a member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and has many years of senior management experience. Having started in marketing, her career took her into sales management and then on to head up the HR department of a multinational financial services company.

She launched Pennine HR in February 2010 alongside her husband Steve, to give businesses practical HR and people management support. Her broad commercial experience means she can advise, support and guide businesses through their own people issues with an understanding of regulation, best practice and what is right for the client.

Steve brings a wealth of people management and commercial experience to the business. Before launching Pennine HR with Lynn he worked his way up from warehouse picker to board director of a £200 million advertising agency.

He has managed teams throughout his career, so he understands the importance of employee relationships and motivation. His role includes developing and managing employee engagement surveys and internal communication strategies, and providing a manager’s perspective on our HR advice.

Nicola started her HR career at British Gas before spending time with a number of financial institutions. Her strong business acumen led her to start her own HR consultancy, HR Caddy, in 2005.

Nicola works with clients on strategic and complex HR matters and leads the HR Caddy team, with a down-to-earth approach that suits a diverse range of clients. Away from the office she enjoys time with family and friends, is a season ticket holder at Aston Villa and is a bit of a bookworm, especially on holiday.

Martin joined HR Caddy in 2012 following a career in the telecoms industry. He manages the non-support side of the business, including sales, finance and marketing, and client relations are his main strength. He is usually the first point of contact for new clients.

Away from the office Martin enjoys trying new activities, from learning to sail to mountain biking and hiking. At home he loves a box set, DIY and socialising with family and friends. He and Nicola are married.

Louise joined the HR Caddy leadership team in 2020 as Operations Director. She works closely with clients on their day-to-day HR support, and is known for responding quickly and making sure nothing is too much trouble.

Leonie has over 15 years of HR and management experience gained in the manufacturing, finance and professional services sectors, during which time she has built extensive operational and business knowledge.

As well as being a CIPD qualified professional, Leonie is a trained Mental Health First Aider.

Nicola has several years of HR experience gained with a national retailer and a manufacturer. As well as working with the rest of the team on the wide variety of HR queries and situations our clients bring to us, Nicola is closely involved in our recruitment activities and supports clients who use the BreatheHR system.

Diana joined Pennine HR in October 2024. She has extensive experience working as an HR consultant with SMEs, has worked with a wide range of businesses and holds the CIPD certificate.

Emma joined Pennine HR in February 2022. She previously worked in retail, where she was an employee representative and gained valuable experience of employee relations processes, the ACAS codes of practice and the Equality Act. She has completed the Virtual Employment Law Academy and ACAS training.
